Annual Alumni - Student Event

The Computer Science Department’s Annual
Alumni/Student Interview and Resume Tips Event
on
Tuesday, April 9th, 2019
6:30 PM - 8 PM
Room A102
St. Albert's Hall

It’s time for our tradition! This is #12.  It's always a lot of fun. A great chance to reconnect with others who went to USF (or College of St. Francis). A chance for students, to connect with alumni to talk about the interview and resume process for those who are looking for programming or IT jobs and internships.

We look to alumni to share their experiences because we value their expertise.

From last year's event
Students should bring their resumes so they can get expert advice on how to best present a good technical resume. If we have students and alumni who'd like to participate, we can also hold mock interviews. Over the years our alumni have made a number of great suggestions. I'm attaching the document that we've developed over the years.

Of course there will also be time to meet and chat with everyone. You can look forward to another fun evening.

We'll acknowledge our student successes and our department news and upcoming events.

We also have a special reason to gather this year.  We’re bidding farewell to St. AL’s.
The wrecking ball should have at it after commencement this year.  Everyone who took computer courses has spent a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in these halls so let’s say good-bye before he’s gone.

St Albert Hall - back in the day!
This is an informal discussion, a sharing of insights and tips, so we'll provide some snacks and beverages.

We would really like to have you join us to share your knowledge. Because of the informal nature of the program, please consider dropping in even if you can't make it right at 6:30 PM or if you have to leave early.

We'll announce our Meritorious Service Award Winner, and the newest members of the Epsilon Delta Pi Honor Society.   We’ll have our Senior Project Team give you some hints as to what’s up with them.

Our USF Computer Club will tell you what they’ve been up to and they may bring along the Oculus Rift they purchased so our alumni can have a VR experience.

Our thanks to the Alumni Association and the USF Computer Club for their support for this event.
